Milk Day 2024 was celebrated with great enthusiasm from November 25 to November 26 at the Government Middle School, Government Primary School, and Anganwadi in Nangla, organized by ICAR-CIRB. The two-day celebration featured a variety of engaging events, including coloring, poster making, collage making, quiz, essay writing, storytelling, debate, and elocution competitions, all centered around the theme of Milk Day. The celebrations concluded with a formal programme chaired by Dr. P. S. Yadav, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIRB, and attended by Dr. Aiswarya S., Dr. M. L. Sharma, and Dr. Jony Chawla, Veterinary Surgeon, Nangla. Principals and Anganwadi teachers from Nangla, along with Sh. Harpal Singh, Sarpanch of Nangla, were also present. During the concluding session, experts from ICAR-CIRB delivered insightful talks on the importance of milk, the contributions of Dr. Verghese Kurien to the dairy industry, and the significance of celebrating Milk Day. They emphasized the role of milk in nutrition and the pivotal contribution of the dairy sector to rural livelihoods. The prize winners of the various competitions held during the two-day event were announced. They will be felicitated during the Kisan Sammelan on November 29, 2024
