ICAR – CIRB organized a national workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and sensors for efficient livestock farming” on 10 June 2024 in the campus premises in a hybrid mode. The workshop was aimed at fostering a collaborative environment with industrialists and academia for development of innovative technologies to uplift the Indian dairy farming.
Mr. V.S. Shridhar (Co-founder and Director, AREETE) and Mr. Manoj (Senior General Manager, Stellaps Technologies) showcased their sensor based monitoring devises for cattle and their utilities. Dr. Ritesh (Principal Scientist, CSIR-CSIO) and Dr. Kiran (IIT, Roorkee) presented various aspects of artificial intelligence based model training and algorithm development to generate different warnings and predictions for dairy farmers. The workshop was chaired in the presence of Dr. R.K. Sethi (ex-director, ICAR-CIRB) and Patron Dr. T.K. Datta (Director, ICAR-CIRB). 11 external subject matter specialists joined the workshop as panelists and discussed the scientific complications, species specific consideration, and way forward in implementation of these innovative technologies in Buffalo dairy industries. Scientists and Research Associates of ICAR-CIRB attended the workshop and many participants also attended it via the online mode.
