A collaborative training program of ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, Hisar, Haryana and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, Telanaga on “Technological Interventions for improving productivity and profitability in Buffalo Husbandry” has been started from 18th October 2022 for 3 days upto 20th October, 2022.
In this training program, a total of 150 participants across the country have been registered. The training program has been designed to develop awareness and educate extension agents, dairy farmers & entrepreneurs, students, research scholars, academicians working in the field of veterinary and animal husbandry about modern buffalo husbandry practices for enhanced milk production and its value addition. The program has been inaugurated by Dr. TK Datta, Director, ICAR-CIRB, Hisar and Dr. P. Chandra Shekar, Director General, MANAGE, Hyderabad in the presence of Dr. Shahaji Phand, Deputy Director and Centre Head, Centre for Extension in Agri-allied Sector, MANAGE and an e-book on the subject was released during the inaugural function.
During the 3 days training course, a total of 15 sessions will be conducted, each day five sessions on various aspects of buffalo husbandry viz. calf management, feeding management of lactating and transitional buffalo, semen freezing and artificial insemination, reproductive inefficiencies and amelioration, feed block and silage production, rearing of buffalo broilers, technologies for value addition of buffalo milk and meat, regulation on marketing of milk and milk products will be deliberated by the subject matter experts across the country. The entrepreneurship opportunities and newer dissemination technologies of buffalo husbandry will also be covered under this program to attract rural youth for entrepreneurship development. At the end of the training program, the feedback regarding the subjects covered will be taken from all the participants in a structured online format to know their views and future improvement. An online exam will be conducted through Google form at the end of the training to assess the knowledge gain by this training program.
