Guidelines for Milk Recording Competition of Farmer’s Buffaloes at ICAR-CIRB. Hisar

Milk competition will be organised on May 1, 2016 at ICAR-CIRB, Hisar. Animals will be emptied on 1st May at 6:00 PM. Subsequent milking on 2nd May at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM & 3rd May at 6:00 AM are to be recorded.

The procedure/activities will be as follows.

Registration of Animal:

Only animals with ear-tag numbers will be registered. In case the animal does not have ear-tag, it will be ear-tagged at ICAR-CIRB through central herd registration scheme. In case of any charges for ear-tagging, the same shall be paid by the owners. Calves at foot will also be ear-tagged.

Timings:

Emptying of teats : As per schedule mentioned in table

Milk recording : As per schedule mentioned in table

1. The weight of milk as well fat percentage will be recorded on the spot.

2. This activity is being done on the request of the farmers for authentication of the high milk yielders. The institute takes no responsibility for any injury/death/any other loss to the animal/owner in the process.

3. The animals will be loaded /unloaded and housed at quarantine unit and no damage to the institute property is to be done in the process or during their stay at the institute.
