ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes celebrated World Veterinary Day on 30th April 2016 in village Ramgarhia, tehsilBhadra district Hanumangarh, Rajasthan under the dynamic leadership of Dr Inderjeet Singh, Director of the Institute on selected theme for 2016: Continuing Education with a One Health Focus.
Kisan Goshti, Animal Health Camp and Prashn manch program was organized by ICAR-Central Institute Of Research on Buffaloes in village Ramgarhia to mark the World Veterinary Day-2016 celebration. In Kisan Goshti experts from various animal husbandry disciplines delivered lectures and answered to the farmers queries. Topics covered in the lectures were importance of mineral mixture feeding, vaccination, deworming, summer management in buffaloes, oestrous detection in buffaloes, colostrum feeding, care & management of new born calves, mastitis & its preventive measures, manure management, zoonotic diseases & its control and animal welfare aspects etc. A short oral quiz competition was held for male and female livestock farmers on different aspect of livestock farming, for every right answer 1 Kg mineral mixture (CIRB technology) was given as prize.
In animal health camp, different livestock species like buffalo, cattle, sheep, camel and poultry were treated for different health ailments. Mineral mixture and deworming tablets/bolus/syrup were distributed to livestock farmers at free of cost and educated the farmers on deworming schedule, economic importance of parasitic diseases, infertility in buffaloes, importance of minerals in preventing infertility etc. About 178 farmers, farm women and rural youths participated in the goshti and more than110 animals were treated for infertility and other health problems.
Scientists and students of the institute were actively participated in organizing Kisan Goshti, Animal Health Camp and Prashn manchi on the occasion of World Veterinary Day-2016. Amongst the scientists, Dr VB Dixit, Dr RK Sharma, Dr (Mrs) Hema Tripathi and amongst technical officers, Dr Sudhir Khanna, Dr Rajesh & Shri. Rajmal and students pursuing MVSc & PhD degree at CIRB participated in the program with team leadership of Dr SS Dahiya, I/C Transfer of Technology Unit. Shri. Sunil Beniwal, Director, Panchayat Samiti, Bhadra and his team helped us in successful organization of the World Veterinary Day-2016
