ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes participated in ‘Krishi Unnati Mela’ the National Level Agriculture Fair-cum-Exhibition in New Delhi from 19-21 March, 2016. The Institute put up its stall and showcased technologies like, Area Specific Mineral Mixture, Balanced Feeding and Complete Feed Block etc. Models of different breeds of buffaloes were also depicted on the occasion. Very special attention was paid by Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and President of the ICAR Society, Sh. Radha Mohan Singh Ji who had a detailed discussion on different breeds of buffaloes available in the country.
Literature on different aspects of buffalo husbandry was distributed to farmers, visited the stall in large numbers. Dignitaries like ADG (AN&P), DDG (AS), DG, ICAR evinced very keen interest in the stall of the Institute.
The Institute also sponsored a bull named ‘Yuvraj’ and a buffalo named ‘Lakkho Rani’. Their owners were also present on the occasion. The bull and the buffalo were the ‘centre of attraction’ and their owners were interviewed by various electronic and print media channels of the country. The Institute also sponsored 50 progressive farmers belonging to Singhwa, Kungarh, Sarsod, Juglan and Sunaria villages from Haryana.
