ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes organised a Kisan Gosthi, Demonstration of Balanced Feeding to Animals, Health check-up Camp at Village Nimoth, Rewari, Haryana on 13.09.2016. Experts from ICAR-CIRB, Hisar, ICAR-IARI, Karnal, CCS HAU,Hisar, Haryana Agriculture Deptt., Haryana Animal Husbandry Deptt. and Regional Manager and team from UPL Pharma Company delivered lectures on various topics. The topics covered were reproduction related problem and oestrous detection in buffaloes, importance of balanced feeding, mineral mixture & its importance in animal nutrition, vaccination, deworming, summer management in buffaloes, colostrum feeding, care & management of new born calves and record keeping etc. Seed Production and source of quality seeds for different crops and its post-harvest management, major crop diseases and their control with special reference to wheat, barley, mustard and cotton, various scheme of state and central Govt. for farmers especially the Pardhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna and use of pesticides and insecticides in crops were the other topics covered in the Kisan Gosthi. Animal Health check-up, Artificial insemination and mineral mixture distribution was also done on the side-lines of the Kisan Gosthi. The schedule for crop sampling required for Fasal Bima Yojna was also provided by the ADO. A special question answer session was organised to address the queries of the farmers related to buffalo husbandry and crop production.
About 200 farmers, farm women and rural youths from village Nimoth, Dhani Thethar Badh and nearby villages participated in the Kiasn Gosthi. The CIRB scientist’s team lead by Dr SS Dahiya Principal Scientist (Animal Nutrition) and I/C TOTE included Dr PS Yadav Principal Scientist (Animal Physiology) and Dr RK Sharma, Principal Scientists and Head, APR Division, Dr Ranjit Singh SRF, Dr Vikas Chaudhary SRF and Sh Rajmal.
To make the Kiasn Gosthi wholesome knowledge dissemination platform experts from ICAR Institutes, SAUs and line departments were also invited. These included Dr Ram Niwas, Principal Scientist (Plant Breeding), IARI; Dr Naresh Kumar, Scientist (Plant pathology) CCSHAU, Hisar, Dr PS Sabarawal, Deputy Director Agriculture (Rewari), Dr Rohtas, Vety Surgeon & Incharge Diseases Diagnostic lab, Rewari), Dr Veer Kumar ADO (Mandola),
Shri Satyawan, Sarpanch, Panchayat members and school teacher Sh Sanjay Kumar extended full support for successful organization of the Kisan Gosthi.
